On our 3rd day, we went on a trip to Cu Chi Tunnels. The tunnels were used by the Vietnamese soldiers during the Vietnam War.

Cu Chi Tunnel is located about 1-2 hours away from the city. Before arriving, the bus stopped at a local craft making place but it does not interest us much. Upon arrival, our tour guide briefed us about the Vietnam War and the structure of the tunnel. We were also shown the different kinds of booby traps used during the war.

Before entering the tunnel, some went to try shooting at the shooting range. Quite a number of tourists lined up to fire M16, AK47 etc. The constant bullets firing sound contributes to the make tourist feels like a war is going on.

After the tour, we went back to the city and visited the War Remnants Museum. I enjoyed the exhibition here as it really explained in detailed of the Vietnam War. The part showing the aftermath of the war really demonstrated how does a war impacted people's life. The usage of Agent Orange (defoliants used by the US military during the war) has also caused great impact on the health of Vietnamese.

Later, we went to Saigon Central Post Office, another must-visit landmark in Ho Chi Minh City. My brother insisted to visit this place because 1 of the designer of this building is Alexandre Gustave Eiffel. Ya, the designer of Eiffel Tower in Paris. Sent a postcard from the place.

We stumbled upon a very crowded restauran
t (Ngõ 8) in Trương Định Street so we decided to give it a try. It was a very interesting experience dining at this place as the waitress gave us a menu in Vietnamese (no picture no nothing). Then we managed to get a menu with picture but still in Vietnamese so we ordered whatever the table next to us order haha!! We really did not know what were we eating.
I think this place is only known to locals. After some googling, I only managed to find reviews of this restaurant in Vietnamese. No choice but I have to rely on google translate this time. And tadaa! This is Crab Pot. LOL
It comes with noodle, beef, taufu, some unknow stuffs and lots of vege. This is the most expensive food we had in Vietnam, costing VND180k (approx RM32). Noticed the 2 eggs? We were very very glad that we did not put it in our pot.

The next morning, which was also the last day in Ho Chi Minh, we decided to walk around the neighbourhood as our flight was at 4pm. We went to the morning market for breakfast and some grocery/souvenir shopping. Our mission was to eat as much local food as possible.

Flight ticket ≈ RM200 (AirAsia - KUL-SGN, SGN-KUL)
Hotel + Tour ≈ RM250 (Thien Tao Hotel - 3 nights stay + 1 day Mekong Delta + 1/2 day Cu Chi)
Food + Taxi + Souvenir ≈ RM150
Total ≈ RM600
